How to properly use the dryer | Tips and recommendations

How to properly use the dryer | Tips and recommendations

The way you use your dryer affects the quality of your clothes, the consumption savings and the life of the appliance. We give you the information and tips you need to use your dryer properly.

Adapt the temperature.

To keep your clothes as they were on day one, it is important to adjust the temperature to the type of fabric you put in the drum.

Your dryer surely has specific programs for each fabric. These personalized programs work through a residual moisture sensor that detects the moisture level of the garment and applies the appropriate temperature and drying time.

To do this, don't forget to look at the garment label, you will find all the information you need to determine if machine drying is suitable and at what temperature the garment should be dried.

Remember:

Natural fabrics such as cotton and linen can shrink. If you usually use this type of garment, choose a program suitable for these fabrics.
Use warm air programs to finish drying low humidity clothes, for a second drying of thick clothes or to dry wool or sports clothes.
You can use cool tempered air programs to remove odors from clothes without having to wash them.
Never put rubber, foam, beads or glitter in the dryer.
You can use dry fabric softener or wipes to soften and scent clothes.

Save energy.

To decrease power consumption, you must take into account the load of clothes and the capacity of your device. Your dryer should have a slightly larger capacity than your washer, keeping in mind that clothes get wet and weigh more.

Ideally, the load should be made up of different pieces of the same fabric and of similar weights. We recommend that you do not put too many clothes in the dryer as the appliance consumes a lot of energy to dry a large load. Also, if you increase the load, your clothes will wrinkle more. Experts recommend leaving 20% of the dryer drum free.

Maintaining Your Dryer.

Dryer maintenance is not a complicated thing and you will prolong the life of your dryer. Cleaning the filter after each use helps maintain the energy efficiency of your appliance. Otherwise, the airflow will not circulate properly and the dryer will not run at its maximum power.
